Antoine Abou-Diwan is a journalist and documentary photographer. His work focuses on environmental issues, displacement and the impact of policies and policy-makers on their communities.
Antoine is presently in Los Angeles, where he focuses on the state’s green energy efforts, public health crises and Colorado River water issues.
He was based in Beirut from 2015 to 2021, during which he reported and edited for local and international outlets. He focused on MENA’s nascent tech startup efforts, disadvantaged communities and the impacts of regional conflicts. He covered Beirut’s protests of 2015, the revolution of 2019 and the port blast of 2020.
Antoine is the recipient of a 2021 California Journalism Award for agricultural reporting. He is interested in coverage related to marginalized communities, resource shortages and governance and accountability. He speaks English, Arabic, German and French.
