Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Los Angeles on June 24 to express their anger and denounce the Supreme Court, hours after it overturned its 1973 Roe vs. Wade ruling, allowing states to ban abortions.
Demonstrators assembled in Pershing Square and marched to City Hall, where representatives from reproductive rights groups addressed the crowd. Some demonstrators afterwards made their way onto a freeway and briefly blocked traffic.
Police clashed with another group of protesters trying to move down an onramp. As well, police assaulted journalists and prevented them from observing as police clashed with protesters.
